Cowl top and prize ribbons

Ok, so maybe I had a bit more in me.  Here are two quick cowl tops that I have made using a pattern used before (Simplicity 2345).  I tried stitch witchery for the hem of the multicoloured version.  Awkward to work with, sorta stiff looking.  God I hate sewing knits. Arm holes were a fold over and twin needle stitched.  For the striped I just used the twin need and it was less fuss and muss.

For Kate's birthday she wanted prize ribbons.  I went to the store and they wanted $5 each.  Get real.  So I picked up some ribbon, borrowed my Dad's glue gun, dug out some orphan buttons and wasted two hours of my time. I pleated about 18 inches of ribbon and then attached them very loosely.  I spread them out and stitched them down a bit, stitched in some ribbon "legs" and glued on the botton and pin backing.
